Halloween Special Events Ongoing Events Dia de Los Muertos at Olvera Street Ongoing until November 2 "The Olvera Street Merchants will hold their annual Dia de los Muertos celebration from October 25 through November 2, 2009 at El Pueblo Historical Monument, home of world famous Olvera Street." There are numerous ways to participate in this Mexican tradition that honors loved ones who have died. The events are free and open to the public, and Children's workshops include mask and necklace making and pinatas! Spooky Science: Skeletons exhibit at the Discovery Science Museum Now - November 8 "Join us this Halloween season as science gets spooky with fun for the whole family! Mixing science, art and culture, our newest exhibition will showcase the science under your skin! Spooky Science: Skeletons will highlight “Dia de los Muertos” art and activities, while incorporating hands-on science lessons." Halloween Singalong Special Halloween "Friday Night Sing-Along" Friday, October 30, 6:30-8:00m Special event at a special family friendly time! "Unleash your inner songbird and belt out popular favorites and classic tunes with hundreds of fellow song lovers while accompanied by live musicians. Lyric sheets are provided. Explore the wonders of the Arboretum gardens. Activities include nature-related crafts, art projects, story-telling, pumpkin decorating, music, face painting, photo opportunities, and lots of tricks and treats! Halloween Party for Downtown L.A. Kids Saturday, October 31, 5:00-8:00pm Downtown Los Angeles is growing by leaps and bounds. This includes hundreds of kids that now call Downtown home.
