Monday's Mompreneur Birdie Mendoza of Birdie's Playhouse

 She's about to take off! Birdie Mendoza, a local mom and songstress, has just released her new CD The Wild World of Wildlife. And we're giving away a copy...please keep reading!
As an L.A. mom premiering her solo CD, she's an original.
Birdie has a resume as fascinating and diverse as the music on her new album. A back-up singer for Ray Charles, singer on Dancing With the Stars, and leader of the Birdie Mendoza Band, she rocks it with a warm and versatile voice. (She also happens to be full of enthusiasm and joy for her work...we love that!)
The songs on the album were influenced by the time Birdie and her family spent in Australia. She found herself living there with a new baby and a hubby busy with a new job. While she wasn't so thrilled with being a new mom alone in a foreign country, she fell in love with the wilderness right outside her back door. The animal characters on the CD span the globe, and every song is infused with fun facts about the animals and their lives.
 What to expect on the new CD? Singable tunes, quirky and clever kid-friendly lyrics, and accomplished musical guests, all wrapped up as an indie project that deftly skips sounds amateurish! Educational yet approachable, your kids will learn about the impact of the ivory trade on elephants, what happens when a hermit crab's claw falls off (in a hysterically ridiculous rap song!), and about a "day in the life" of a baby iguana...who really wants to "dance" in "Iguana Wants to Baila".
