November 14-15

This is silly, but... I have a crush on a dinosaur.  I know, waving my geek flag high.  I blame the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County.

The kids and I trekked on down to the Natural History Museum on Wednesday, and finally got to experience Dinosaur Encounters.  A giant "puppet show" wrapped up in an educational lecture, mixed with a little suspense and surprise.  It was deliciously scary...a huge human-controlled dinosaur walks, growls, and attempts to eat brave children, but still manages to be really, really cute.  I was expecting cheesy and a little fake... what I saw was a brilliant museum education experience and professional entertainment.  A great show for kids of all ages...and me too!  It's also been exciting to watch the improvements and construction taking place at the museum as they prepare for the opening of the new Dinosaur Hall in 2011 and the museum's birthday.

I hope you'll (gulp) toss the kids in the car sometime soon and take your own adventure to go see something that's been on your "I've always wanted to see that" list!  Look for our Winter Adventure Guide in the coming weeks, and news about our adventure next week in a separate email later this weekend.
